Unlike philosophical traditions that regard the world as an illusion (māyā in the sense of unreality), Saiva Siddhānta argues that the world, the human mind, and spiritual bondage possess objective reality, even though they are not ultimately independent of God. This position gives rise to an elaborate analysis of the human psyche, consciousness, and the process of liberation.

 சைவ சித்தாந்தத்தின் பொருள்கோள் நெறி (Hermeneutics)

 

இந்த நூல் சைவ சித்தாந்தத்தின் தனித்துவமான தத்துவச் சிறப்புகளில் ஒன்றை விளக்குகிறது. அது இருப்பியல் யதார்த்தவாதம் (Ontological Realism) மற்றும் உளவியல் யதார்த்தவாதம் (Psychological Realism) ஆகும். உலகம், மனம், ஆன்ம பந்தம் ஆகியவை வெறும் தோற்றமோ மாயத் தோற்றமோ அல்ல; அவை உண்மையாகவே உள்ளன என்று சைவ சித்தாந்தம் வலியுறுத்துகிறது. ஆனால் அவை இறைவனுக்கு இணையான சுயாதீன இருப்புடையவை அல்ல. இத்தகைய நிலைப்பாடு மனித மனம், நனவு, ஆன்ம பந்தம் மற்றும் விடுதலை ஆகியவற்றைப் பற்றிய ஆழமான உளவியல் ஆய்வுக்கு வழிவகுக்கிறது.
